Ammi visnaga ‘Green Mist’ is the ever popular Queen Anne’s Lace, but on steroids for size. With lacy heads of misty green and cream.
‘Green Mist’ has larger heads with the green flowers arranged in beautifully formal domes. So it is taller; more subtle than ordinary Queen Anne’s Lace; and very very impressive.

Green Queen Anne’s Lace

Any Queen Anne’s Lace is highly fashionable with florists, as one of the best vase fillers.
But florists will walk over cut glass to get Ammi visnaga ‘Green Lace’ for impressive floral art and stunning wedding arrangements.

It produces a spectacular mist of fine lacy flowers in large domes, on tall, branched, slender stems.
And the flowers are so fine they are named after the exquisite lace embroidered for the collars of Queen Anne (though there is some dispute as to which Queen Anne – but they all had beautiful fine lace collars – so does it matter!)

Beloved cut flowers & foliage for florists

So you can cut armloads of lacy stems, which last 10 days in a vase.
Or florists can also use the flower heads dyed or dried for winter arrangements.
Fresh cut foliage is also highly prized as a lacy green filler in vases and arrangements.

Romantic garden display

However Ammi visnaga ‘Green Mist’ is wonderful just left to naturalize in the garden, where it makes a lacy filler between shrubs, under trees, or at the back of the flower border to give that misty, romantic look.

Super easy to grow

Because Ammi visnaga ‘Green Mist’ will happily foam away in either Sun or Shade.
And it is a water-wise, low maintenance, no-care, self-sowing annual / biennial which is with you year after year with little to no effort by you.
It is quick and very easy to raise from seed, and once established in the garden will reliably self sow each year.

“Bees-knees” for pollinators

Ammie visnaga ‘Green Mist’ is “bees-knees” for bringing pollinators into the garden and supporting our bees.
And while deer dislike the taste and avoid eating it, bees and other beneficial pollinating insects think Queen Anne’s Lace is the “bees knees”. And go into a frenzy of delight and feasting on the nectar.

SOWING ADVICE: QUICK & EASY

Ammi seed can be scattered directly in the garden with excellent results. Or for quicker and earlier plants – sow indoors.

Indoors for quick & early plants: First sow a pinch of seed each in deep pots (as seedlings have a long tap root).
Sow seeds from mid-autumn until early spring.

Optimum germination is at temperatures of approx. 15-20C.

Sow onto surface good quality seed raising mix and lightly cover with mix / fine grit or vermiculite to depth of 5mm.

Germination is generally 7-21 days.

Seed Count:  seeds per pack approx.
