Anemone multifida rubra, Red Pacific Anemone: Native of the US, this lovely, hardy, herbaceous perennial  is quite at home in the rock garden. A  wonderful profusion of carmine-red flowers with a yellow center are borne on tall stout stems in late spring early summer. Very ornamental woolly seed heads follow in late summer adding additional interest. Neat mounds of beautifully dissected leaves are covered with fine silvery hairs and make a wonderful companion planting with spring bulbs. Enjoys moist, full sun to part shade in neutral to acid soil. Shallow rooted so mulch well and keep moist over the summer months. 30– 45cm H  x 30cm W.

Sowing Advice

Sow  Anemone seeds in good quality compost or seed raising mix at any time . Lightly cover with fine river sand or compost to their own depth. Place in a propagator or cover with a plastic lid in a warm place. We recommend germinating at 15-20 degrees C keep moist at all times, but do not saturate. Pot on seedlings to harden off and mature before finally planting out in the garden.
