Common Name:
 Perennial Snapdragon
Hardy Perennial
Seed Count:

Antirrhinum braun blanquetii – Extremely hardy perennial ‘snapdragon’ from the North of Spain. This trouble free  perennial blooms in the first year from seed. The second flowering season is truly spectacular with a solid mass of tall stems  smothered with yellow throat-ed, pale lemon snapdragon flowers being produced right through the summer months. Cut back the spent flower spikes to extend flowering into autumn. Will gently self seed wherever happy. Narrow, lance shaped shiny leaves are held along the plentiful flower spikes.  Enjoys full sun in well drained humus rich soil.  Hardy and easy. 60cm  x 45cm.

Sowing Advice

Sow Antirrhinum seeds indoors. Surface sow onto moist well-drained  good quality seed raising mix. Do not cover. Needs light to germinate. Ideal temp. 18-20°C. Germination  generally takes 14-21 days. Antirrhinum  seedlings resent being watered on leaves and may dampen off, water from below and use fungicide  regularly until ready to transplant. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Acclimatize and plant out once danger of frost has passed .
