Antirrhinum majus ‘Night & Day’
NIGHT & DAY SNAPDRAGONS

Antirrhinum majus ‘Night & Day’ is strikingly unusual in colouring.

Deep burgundy & striking white

Because each flower contrasts midnight-burgundy velvety lips with white throats.
Set against dark foliage.
So ‘Night & Day’ really creates a pool of deep colour in the garden.

Tough little go-er in wind & heat

However Antirrhinum majus ‘Night & Day ‘ is a tough little performer, despite the dramatic good looks.
Because the flower spires are compact, exceptionally weather hardy and windproof, as well as heat resistant.
Happily they are not high on the menu list for rabbits and deer, who usually pass them by for tastier fodder.

Outstanding commercial cut flowers

‘Night & Day’ provides outstanding cut flowers of commercial quality, in unusual and stylish colour.

Gorgeous in a pot too

Plant Antirrhinum majus ‘Night & Day’ in Sun to Part Shade.
It suits a wide range of soils, including sandy or clay, as long as the position is well drained.
And they are particularly lovely in a container or decorative pot with their contrasting colouring, compact growth and exceptionally long blooming season.

Quick & easy to raise from seed & fast to bring to bloom

Antirrhinum majus is actually a short lived perennial and will go on blooming for several years if left in the garden over winter.
But they are so quick and easy to raise from seed, and fast to bring to flower from seed, that they are often grown as annual.

45cm High x 20cm Wide.

SEED SOWING ADVICE: QUICK & EASY
Suitable for beginners & gardening with kids

Sow Antirrhinum majus ‘Night & Day’ at any time indoors in a punnet for an early start with flowers. Or scatter directly in garden in winter and spring.

INDOORS: First sow the seeds on the surface of good quality seed raising mix.
Then pat the surface lightly to ensure good contact of seeds to the mix, but do not cover.
Because these seeds need light to germinate.

Now thoroughly moisten the sown punnet by standing it in a shallow water bath and allowing the moisture to percolate to the surface of the mix from below.

Then place it in a warm, well lit position (not in direct sunlight).

Temperatures of 15-25C are best for optimum and rapid germination.
You can use a heat mat if you have one.
Though it is not essential as these seeds are willing germinators.

Continue to keep moist by misting from a spray water bottle.

Seeds germinate in approx. 10-15 days.

SEED COUNT:  20 seeds approx. per pack. (Seeds of this new release are scarce).
