Aster alpinus ‘Goliath’ has soft lavender-blue flowers that are unusually large for this species. It blooms in late spring to early summer & is a great companion for aquilegias and other early-blooming perennials. It’s perfect in the rock garden or border.
Start aster seeds indoors in late winter. Rapidly germinating, keep seed in constant moisture (not wet) with temperatures of about +20°C. Seeds must be covered thinly. Do not cover very small seeds, but tightly press into the earth. Keep in cooler conditions after germination occurs before pricking out.
