Gives armloads of stylish cut flowers for vases
‘White Cloud’ is ideal for shaded areas, under trees and shrubs.
It is also suitable for boggy areas, and heavy soils such as enriched clay.

After the flowers are spent, the foliage is very beautiful and will add texture to the garden.
Autumn foliage colours of butter yellow and gold are a late bonus.
This herbaceous perennial is spectacular planted in drifts to create a soft dreamy effect.
75cm x 50cm.
SEED SOWING ADVICE:
Sow Astilbe seeds in good quality seed raising mix at any time.
Surface sow onto moist mix.
Do not cover, light is needed for germination.
Temperatures of 15-20°C are ideal for optimum germination, in a well lit position (not in direct sunlight).
Keep punnet moist but not wet. Germination takes 1-3 months.
If germination does not occur it means the seeds need a period of chilling to break natural dormancy.
Cling wrap moist punnet, and place in fridge (not freezer) for 4 weeks.
Then remove from fridge, unwrap, and return to well lit position at 15-20°C.
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on. Acclimatize and plant out after danger of frost has passed. Totally frost hardy once plants have matured.
