Campanula pyramidalis ‘Alba’
WHITE CHIMNEY BELLFLOWER
This is a biennial with tall (1.5m), erect, pyramidal flower covered spikes. In mid or late summer in its 2nd year, it produces fragrant, saucer-shaped, wjite flowers on these spikes.
Insect pollination leads to production of seeds, and these lovely plants will self-sow in the garden.
Hardy, easy to grow and low maintenance in Sun or Part Shade and well-drained soil.
SEED SOWING ADVICE: QUICK & EASY
Sow Campanula pyramidalis ‘Alba’ indoors in punnets.
Sow onto the surface of moist well-drained seed raising mix. Press in lightly. Do not cover with soil, seeds need light for germination.
Temperatures of approx 16-18°C are optimum for germination.
Germination takes 14-28 days.
When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings to 8cm pots and grow on in cooler conditions.
Plant out once danger of frost has passed with 50cm spacing.
