Perfect for garden & cutting without being leggy
Making it perfect for garden display, as well as for cut flower production.
The stems are still plenty long enough for floristry, but they withstand windy days better.

Superb commercial quality cut flowerÂ
So it is rated as a superb, commercial quality cut flower, as well as giving a splendid garden display for months on end till winter.
Dream for florists & flower farmers – cut & come again
While pretty ferny foliage also adds to the lacy, gentle effect in both vase and garden.
Plus the more flower stems you cut – the more will come.
Hardy & easy to grow
Plant in Full Sun, though ‘Fandango’ can also tolerate a little Part Shade, particularly in hot areas.
It is a water-wise, heat & dry hardy little toughie.
Quick to bloom from seed
Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Fandango’ is a tough, easy, low maintenance annual, which is quick and easy to raise from seed.
So it will be happily blooming 2-3 months after sowing the seed.
It also self-seeds reliably in the garden each year once you get it started in the garden or flower field. So you will always have lovely Cosmos from year to year.
Tip for best cut flowers
Cut the blooms when the buds are just beginning to unfurl. So you have cut them before the bees have their fun.
This helps to extend the vase life of the flowers.
Bee & pollinator magnet
Bees of all shapes and sizes, and all our other other pollen loving flying friends, make a “bee-line” for these lovely flowers.
Because the pollen rich centres provide such a long and rich food source for essential pollinating insects.
Bring French style & class to the garden
So it is no wonder that Cosmos are traditional companion flowers in all the best (and prettiest) French potagers and orchards.
The French certainly know a thing or two about making attractive and productive food gardens.

SEED SOWING ADVICE: QUICK & EASY
Suitable for beginners & gardening with kids
Sow seeds of Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Fandango’ at any time of year indoors whenever suitable temperatures are available (20-25°C).
OR
Sow directly in the garden in spring & early summer.
Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Fandango’ is fast from seed to flower.
Sow indoors for quick & early plants: First sow the seeds in a punnet on surface of good quality seed raising mix.
Then cover the seed to a depth of approx. 6mm. with sieved mix or fine vermiculite.
Now stand the sown punnet in a shallow water bath and allow the moisture to percolate up to the surface of the mix from below.
Drain, then place the moist punnet in a warm, well-lit position position (but not in any direct sunlight).
Temperatures of 20-25°C are best for rapid and optimum germination.
You can use a heat mat to maintain warmth if you have one, but it is not essential as these seeds are willing germinators.
Continue to keep the sown punnet moist by misting from a spray water bottle.
Covering the punnet with a clear plastic lid or plastic bag will also help to keep the punnet consistently moist and prevent drying out.
Seedlings emerge in approx. 14-21 days, and can even emerge in as little as 7 days.
Prick seedlings out quickly into pots, as soon as they develop their first set of true leaves.
Grow on until ready to plant in the garden.
Seed Count: 20 seeds per pack approx.
(We always aim to exceed the stated seed count, and give a generous serve).
