Dierama pulcherrimum Rose Pink, Rose Pink Fairy Fishing Rod: Graceful arching stems 120cm high, sway in the wind with dangling bells of rose pink. These resemble a small fishing rod, hence the name Fairy Fishing Rod. Fine, tall sword like, clumping, evergreen foliage to 80cm tall, these thicken up and improve over years to create a stunning display. The long spring/summer flowering is followed by decorative round seed heads, these are attractive in their own right.Enjoys full sun or light shade. Suitable for most garden soils. Seed can be sown at any time into a good quality compost or seed raising mix. Cover with fine river sand or compost to 5mm depth. Natural germination will occur outside or in a seed raising tray kept at 15-20 degrees C. Germination takes from one to three month. Grow on the individual grass like seedlings in small pots. Protect from frost in first year. Dierama’s do cross pollinate easily with other species and varieties. These seeds may produce some flower colors differing from parent plant.
