Euphorbia characias subsp. wulfenii
Blue green leaves densely cloth fleshy erect stems. In early spring these are topped with huge chartreuse domes made up of 100’s of tiny flowers and bracts. Incredibly tough and very showy at a time when very little else is out in the garden, with the exception of bulbs. The flower heads change colour as they age to a deeper sage green often with reddish tinges. These are very decorative through the summer months and even right into autumn. Enjoys full sun to light shade. Not fussy on soil type but needs good drainage. 1m H x 1m W.
SEED SOWING ADVICE:
Soak Euphorbia seed for 2 hours in warm water before sowing on the surface of good quality compost or seed raising mix. Just cover with vermiculite or sieved seed raising mix to their own depth. Grow at 15- 20 degrees C either on propagator heat bed or in unheated poly house. Keep moist but not saturated. Germination may be slow and varied. Pot on each seedlings as soon as each one is large enough to handle till ready to plant out.
