Gentiana asclepiadea ‘Pink Cascade’ – Very rare and long lived and totally trouble free perennial. Heavily laden, arching sprays of beautiful pink trumpet flowers appear in late summer autumn. This gentian can take up to three years to make an impressive site, but definitely worth the wait. Gentians require moist, humus rich, well drained soil. But keep soil moist. Part shade to shade. 50-60cm x 45cm.
Gentiana asclepiadea ‘Pink Cascade’ seeds can be sown at any time in good quality gritty compost or seed raising mix, but are best sown in winter or early spring to benefit from a cold spell in wet compost to break the dormancy. We suggest covering the seeds very thinly with sand or fine grit to about the seeds own depth. If the seed does not germinate within 6-12 weeks, the damp seed tray can be placed in a polythene bag and placed in the fridge for a period of 4 weeks cold treatment .Then place back in un heated poly house with a glass or plastic cover to help keep moisture in, they may still take many months to appear. Be patient and do not discard the seed
