WHITE AROMATIC CRANESBILL

Geranium macrorrhizum ‘White Ness’ is one of the loveliest of all the aromatic Cranesbills.
Because it bears a mass of snowy white blooms over the warm months.
And it’s evergreen aromatic foliage makes a lovely dense groundcover.
So it is delightful for both fragrance, and the decorative qualities of it’s flowers and foliage.

Geranium macrorrhizum ‘White Ness’ can be planted in Shade, Dappled Sun to Full Sun.
So it is delightful under trees and shrubs where the pristine white flowers gleam out of the gloom.

Because Geranium macrorrhizum ‘White Ness’ tolerates heat & dry periods well, once it is established.
So it makes a good choice for more challenging places.
Plus it is soundly frost hardy.
And best of all, it is also rabbit resistant. Because pesky rabbits do not like either the taste or the perfume of the foliage.

Geranium macrorrhizum ‘White Ness’ makes an evergreen perennial groundcover of dense, fragrant foliage.
Making it perfect for carpeting under trees and shrubs.

30cm High pristine white flowers x 75cm Wide mat of evergreen, delightfully aromatic foliage.

SEED SOWING ADVICE:

Sow in punnets indoors winter, spring or autumn / or scatter directly in garden late winter-early spring.

Indoors: Sow in punnets on surface of good quality seed raising mix.

Then gently pat the seed to the surface of the mix to ensure good contact.
Now barely cover with grit/sieved mix/sand/or vermiculite.

Then place the sown punnet in a warm, well-lit position (not in direct sunlight).
And continue keep moist for 2-4 weeks.
Temperatures of 15-20 °C are ideal for rapid and optimum germination.

Some seeds may germinate immediately.
However a period of chilling will improve germination rates.

So after 2-4 weeks in a warm position, then wrap the moist punnet in cling wrap & place in fridge (not freezer) for 4-6 weeks.
After 4-6 weeks of chilling, remove from fridge, unwrap punnet & return to a warm, well-lit position at 15-20 °C.
Most seedlings should emerge in approx. 30 to 90 days.
But do not discard punnet, as some seedlings may come later.

SEED COUNT: 20 seeds per pack approx.
(We always aim to exceed the stated seed count, and give a generous serve).
