Gypsophila paniculata, Perennial Babys Breath Indispensable for flower arranging, this very popular easily grown perennial has a myriad of star like white flowers held on fine, wiry, branching stems. Wonderful to plant amongst perennial borders and allow the ‘Gyp’ to wind in between neighbouring plants for a soft romantic effect. Cut back after flowers are spent to encourage a second flush of flowers. Enjoys full sun, in well drained humus rich soil. Dislikes winter wet. 90cm H x 60cm W.
Sow Gypsophila paniculata seeds on good quality seed raising mix at any time . Lightly cover with vermiculite or mix to their own depth. Place in a propagator or cover with a plastic lid in a warm place. We recommend germinating at 15-20°C keep moist at all times, but do not saturate. Germination in 5-10 days. Once germinated reduce temp. to 10-15°C and grow on. Pot on seedlings to harden off and mature before finally planting out in the garden once danger of frost has passed. Can be sown directly Oct-Nov.
