Omphalodes linifolia – Faint, sweet scented sprays of pure white, golden eyed for-get-me-not like flowers are produced profusely all the summer months. These are held above compact mounds of long, narrow, grey green leaves. This lovely biennial enjoys full sun to part shade in humus rich well drained soil. Pinch out growing tips to encourage bushier growth. Water infrequently but deeply. Just like Gypsophylla, Omphalodes linifolia is great for cutting. 45cm x 45cm.
Sow Omphalodes seeds in early spring in good quality seed raising mix and place on a gentle heat of 18-22 degree C. Pot on to plant out in late spring after all danger of frost have passed. Best when seed is sown directly into a well prepared garden bed as seedlings dislike being transplanted. Germination takes 14-42 days. This biennial will gently self seed once established in the garden.
