Papaver miyabeanum ‘Pacino’

Papaver miyabeanum ‘Pacino’ is a gem.

Scented lemon-lime silken flowers

It bears scented, delicate lemon-lime coloured flowers, with paper thin silken petals of the most beautiful texture.

Delightful fine filigree foliage like blue-grey feathers

And these flowers glow against delightful, fine filigree foliage that resembles a knot of blue-grey feathers.
So the foliage makes a very tight low mound snuggled to the ground.

Blooms like beaming moons

While the flowers float above, beaming up on clean stiff stems, like a flock of dainty moons.

Tidy neat edge, paver or container plant

Papaver miyabeanum ‘Pacino’ is an ideal plant for making a neat, tidy front edge to a garden bed, nestled amongst rocks and pavers, or displayed in a decorative pot.
The foliage mound is great decoration even without the moon flowers.

Cut flowers for dainty vases

‘Pacino’ enjoys a position in Full Sun and blooms stand on 15cm. stems, providing good cut flowers for dainty vases.
It is also suitable for coastal gardens.

Frost hardy

Papaver miyabeanum ‘Pacino’ is soundly frost hardy in winter, though it does resent being wet or waterlogged. It is a good idea to incorporate some extra gravel in the planting hole to ensure good drainage, unless you already garden on sandy, rocky or gravel soil..

INDOORS: First sow the seeds in a punnet on the surface of good quality seed raising mix.
Then pat the seeds gently to the surface of the mix.
Now barely cover with sieved mix, as light helps germination with these seeds.

Continue to keep the punnet moist in a warm, well-lit place (not in direct sunlight).
Because temperatures of around 20°C approx. are ideal for rapid and optimum germination.

Seedlings emerge in 7-14 days approx.

SEED COUNT: 50 seeds per pack.
(We always aim to exceed the stated seed count and give a generous serve).
