Pulsatilla vulgaris ‘Heiler’s Hybrids’ are stars in the Pasque Flower world.

Stars of blue, purple, wine, pink, red & white

And these stars come large, in the most glorious range of rich colours, and in profusion.
So the silken stars open from bells of buds, in late winter & early spring.

They are breathtakingly lovely during late winter and early spring, when you are desperate for blooms after the long gloomy winter.
And there they are beaming at you crisply above a neat clump of the prettiest feathery foliage.
Looking as if they have been cut from the finest silk.

Wonderful wildly harum-scarum silky seed heads 

Then spectacular fluffy seed heads follow the glistening flowers, and continue the show in summer.
Though for me, these wildly harum-scarum silky seed heads are just as lovely as the dramatic flowers.

Excellent cut flowers & garden value

And these gleaming seed heads of summer silk make lovely additions to a vase of cut flowers.
As do the flowers earlier in the season.
So all in all, Pasque Flowers deliver great value for a very long time, with their combination of lovely buds, stars of flowers, wonderful seed heads and lacy foliage.

Hardy & easy to grow

Plant Pulsatilla vulgaris ‘Heiler’s Hybrids’ in Sun to ½ Shade and Dappled Sun.
Where they are tolerant of periods of dry, once settled in.
Being extremely frost hardy adds to the virtues of Pulsatillas.

Easy care & low maintenance

Heiler’s Hybrids Pasque Flowers form neat & hardy perennial clumps.
And they are very easy care, low maintenance plants in the garden, rarely if ever troubled by any pests or diseases.

Quick & easy from seed to flower

They are also quick and easy to grow from seed.

Perennial clump of exquisite flowers to 20cm H x 20cm W decorative foliage mound.

SEED SOWING ADVICE: QUICK & EASY
Suits beginners & gardening with kids

Sow Pulsatilla vulgaris ‘Heiler’s Hybrids’ indoors in winter, spring or autumn
OR
Scatter seed outdoors during winter or spring.

Sow indoors for quick plants & early flowers: Sow seeds in a punnet on the surface of good quality seed raising mix.
Then press the seeds gently into the surface of the mix to ensure good contact.
But do not cover the seeds with mix.
Because these seeds need light to germinate.

Now keep the sown punnet moist in well-lit position.
A bright window-sill or well lit corner is perfect (but not in any direct sunlight).
You can use a temperature-controlled heat mat if you have one, but this is not essential as these seeds are easy and quick to germinate.

Temperatures of 15-21°C. are optimum for rapid and thorough germination.

Seedlings emerge in approx. 21-28 days.

But if the seeds are shy to germinate – The cling wrap your moist punnet.
And place in fridge (not freezer) for 4-6 weeks to break the seeds dormancy with a “pretend winter”.

Then remove, unwrap & return to a well-lit position at 15-21°C.
Keep moist until ready to prick out.

Seed Count: 30 seeds per pack approx.
