Sowing Advice

Pomegranate seed may be sown at any time of the year. Sow seeds at a depth of 12mm (1/2 inch) in good quality seed raining mix. Seed needs light to germinate so do not cover. Place seed in warm position in bright light and keep just moist at all times.  Use a propagator and heat bed if possible so that temperatures fluctuate between 20°C at night 30°C during the day.  Seeds usually germinate in 21 to 30 days.  Transplant when large enough to handle in to deep container not shallow. Keep moist at all times, in a well lit position away from frost and drying winds. Flowers well when slightly root-bound.
