Spectacular field of Poppies

A beautiful hand-blended mix of tall, medium and short Poppies to create layers of colour for many months.

CONTAINS
Peony Poppies – tall colour layer:

Papaver paeoniflorum
Single & double forms – all colours from black, through reds, pinks, lilacs, cream and white.

Feather Poppies – tall colour layer:

Papaver lacinatum
Single & double forms – all colours from rose, through pinks, and white

Double Shirley Poppies – middle colour layer:

Papaver rhoeas Double Shirley Poppies
Double and semi-double,  bicolour, frilled and picotee forms.
Wonderful mix of soft and pretty, pearly colours.

Double & Single Californian Poppies – low colour layer:

Eschscholzia californica varieties
Double and Single forms. In a jewel mix of colours from white, through pinks, apricots, cherry and sunset colours (not just the common old orange one).

Flowers for months over spring, summer and autumn

And then self-sows for next year.

Plant in a sunny bed to make a Poppy Field

You can make a spectacular colour show in one large bed – one packet is enough for at least 2-3 square metres.

SEED SOWING ADVICE: QUICK & EASY

Suits beginners & gardening with kids

Scatter directly in the garden in spring or autumn.
Temperatures of 16-22°C approx. are best for rapid and optimum germination.

Prepare the sowing area by digging and raking over.
And it is a good idea to top dress with a thin layer of some good quality potting mix before sowing – to prepare a nice cosy bed for the seeds to germinate in.

Tip for sowing Poppy seed:
Poppy seed is very fine.
So to make it easier to spread well and evenly – Sieve some potting mix to get the fines.
Put a small handful in the bag with the seed. Shake well to gather up all the seed and distribute through the mix. Then scatter the whole contents of the bag.

Water in well with a fine spray.
Continue to keep consistently moist with the fine water spray until seedlings emerge.

Seedlings emerge in approx. 7-21 days.

Seed Count: 500+ seeds per pack.
One packet is enough for at least 2-3 square metres.
(We always aim to exceed the stated seed count and give a generous serve).
