SEED SOWING ADVICE: QUICK & EASY
Suitable for beginners or kids

Seeds of Scutellaria can be sow at any time of year in punnets indoors, whenver suitable temperatures can be provided.
OR
Scatter the seeds directly in the garden in autumn, winter or early spring.

Sow indoors for quick plants & early flowers: First sow the seeds in a punnet on the surface of good quality seed raising mix.
Then pat the seeds gently to the surface of the mix.
Barely cover with 2mm of mix/ sand/grit/ fine vermiculite.
Because these seeds need light to germinate.

Now moisten the sown punnet by standing it in a shallow water bath.
And allow the moisture to percolate up through the mix from below.

Now place the punnet in a warm, well-lit position (but not in any direct sun).

Temperatures of 15-21°C approx. are ideal for optimum germination.

Continue to keep the punnet moist by misting it from a spray water bottle regularly.
Covering the punnet with a clear plastic cover will help to maintain consistent moisture and prevent drying out.

Seeds germinate in approx. 3-4 weeks.

However if they are shy to germinate – then cling-wrap the moist sown punnet and place it in the fridge (not freezer) for 4-6 weeks.
This mimics the chill of winter.
Then remove, unwrap & return to well-lit position at 15-21°C. and continue to keep moist.

Seed Count: 30 seeds per pack approx.
