Verbena hastata ‘Alba’ has Candelabra heads of white flowers on multi branching spires. 1.2m. Exceptionally long blooming over late spring, summer and autumn, and can even continue into winter. Lovely cut flower. Lovely background plant to create a haze of white.
Easy to grow, low maintenance, very hardy. Prefers Full Sun. Frost hardy. Water-wise plant. Hardy in hot conditions. Drought resistant once established. Not fussy about soil, as long as it is well drained – Sandy, Loam or Clay based; Alkaline, Neutral or Acid. Grows well in poor, infertile soils if well drained and mulched.

SEED SOWING ADVICE:
INDOORS: Sow Verbena hastata ‘Alba’ seeds on moist well-drained seed raising mixture. Just lightly cover seed with mix. Light is needed for seed germination. 18-21°C optimum temperature if using a heat bed. Germination takes approx. 14-90 days and can be staggered, with some seeds coming quickly and others later. Once germinated place in a well aired and lit area to grow on.
