“Kiss—Me—Quick” An old time favorite that is easy even in very hard conditions. Red Valerian is an evergreen , bushy perennial with soft, fleshy, blue green foliage. The non stop cluster of tiny rose red flowers are produced through spring summer and into autumn. Dead head regularly to keep those blooms coming. Frost and dry hardy. Enjoys full sun to light shade in well drained soil. Not fussy on soil type. Good cut flower. 90cm H x 90cm W.
Sow Centranthus ruber Rosenrot seeds at any time on to surface of moist, good quality seed raising mix.. Just cover with mix to seeds own depth. Place in an unheated poly house or indoors on heat bed at 18-20 degrees C. Germination takes approximately 21-30 days . Slower in cooler weather. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on. Acclimatize and plant out in late spring with 30cm spacing, Can be sown directly October –Dec. Sow 2mm deep, thin to 30cm spacings.
