Antirrhinum majus ‘Mini Cherry Cola’
CHERRY & COLA DWARF SNAPPIES

Antirrhinum majus ‘Mini Cherry Cola’ is a great new dwarf Snapdragon.
With a stunning colour combination – perfect for garden display and a showstopper in pots.

Loaded with rich cherry snapdragons

‘Mini Cherry Cola’ is a powerhouse of colour and flower production.
Blooms are rich deep cherry, contrasting against deep chocolate-maroon foliage the colour of Coca-Cola.

Fabulous foliage the colour of Coca-Cola

This tight chocolatey foliage mound is such a colour treat, even without the flowers.
But when you put the cherries on top – delicious.
‘Mini Cherry Cola’ has anmongs the closest to black foliage of all the “Snappies”.

Delicious scent too

Blooms also have a sweet scent, lovely in both garden and a vase.
And with such a mass of flowers the scent is a real presence.

Tight mound power packed with blooms

Antirrhinum majus ‘Mini Cherry Cola’ grows as a tight, rounded globe of a plant, just power packed with lovely colour.
At times the flowers are so thick it is difficult to see any foliage.

Dwarf mounding plant but with full size blooms

‘Mini Cherry Cola’ is a true dwarf Snappie.
So it bears loaded spires of full size flowers, but covering a low mounding plant.
Approx. 30cm. High x 25cm. Wide.

Recently bred for dramatic colour & long blooming

This bewitching dwarf has been recently bred especially for smaller gardens and pots.

Tough & trouble free to grow

And to be tough and trouble-free, with enhanced disease resistance, perfect for the modern home gardener.

Long & prolific flowering

Plants have an exceptionally early, long, and prolific flowering, and known for the ability to just keep on blooming continuously.

Early start with flowers

Flowering begins in early spring if you sow seed during winter for an early planting.
Flowers then continue on until the first frosts.

Easy to raise from seed

‘Mini Cherry Cola’ is very satisfying to raise from seed – as it is quick and easy to germinate and quickly grows on to make such a colour blast in the garden or a feature pot.

Quick from seed to flower

You can have flowers in as little as 10-12 weeks after sowing the seed.

A WOW for pots & edges

‘Mini Cherry Cola’ is striking planted as the front edge of a garden bed, or as a colour contrast accent at a corner.
And it is is a wow in pots.

Edible flowers

Snapdragon flowers are deliciously edible and make a sweet treat in salads, stir fries, fruit salads, drinks and as garnish.
So plant some in your veggie patch for both nibbling and cutting for vases.
Or just for letting the kids “snap” the Dragon’s jaws – Kids adore plucking the flowers and working the dragon’s mouth.

Deer & rabbit resistant

Happily rabbits and deer do not enjoy the flowers as we do, and usually pass Snapdragons by on their way to tastier fodder.

Easy garden grower

Plant ‘Mini Cherry Cola’ in Sun to Part Shade.
It also suits a wide range of soils, including sandy or clay, as long as the position is well drained.

Garden highlights for years to come

Antirrhinum majus ‘Mini Cherry Cola’ is actually a short lived perennial and will go on blooming for several years if cut back and left in the garden over winter.
But because they are so quick and easy to raise from seed, and fast to bring to flower from seed, they are often treated as annual.

Personally I leave mine in the garden from year to year instead, and just trim them back to reshoot each spring.
They will also self-sow in the garden for new baby plants next year.

SEED SOWING ADVICE: QUICK & EASY
Suitable for beginners & gardening with kids

Sow at any time indoors in a punnet for an early start with flowers, whenever suitable temperatures can be provided (15-25°C ).
OR
Scatter directly in garden in winter and spring.

Sow indoors for quick & early plants: First sow the seeds on the surface of good quality seed raising mix.
Then pat the surface lightly to ensure good contact of seeds to the mix, but do not cover.
Because these seeds need light to germinate.

Now thoroughly moisten the sown punnet by standing it in a shallow water bath and allow the moisture to percolate to the surface of the mix from below.

Then place it in a warm, well lit position (not in any direct sunlight).

Because temperatures of 15-25°C are best for optimum and rapid germination.
You can also use a heat mat if you have one.
Though it is not essential as these seeds are willing germinators.

Then continue to keep moist by misting from a spray water bottle.
Covering the punnet with a clear lid or plastic bag will also help to maintain necessary consistent moisture.
Remove cover immediately germination commences.

Seeds germinate in approx. 10-15 days.

Seed Count: 40 seeds approx. per pack.
(We always aim to exceed the stated seed count and give a generous serve).
