Where it is heat, dry & frost hardy.
Plus water -wise and drought resistant.

Centaurea atropurpurea is an ideal candidate for gardeners grappling with less than ideal conditions. It is a bonus that it can also cope with poorer soils if necessary.

An all-round tough, low maintenance perennial for hotter and drier gardens.

Scatter directly in the garden / or sow in punnets indoors for early plants.
Centaurea atropurpurea can be sown at any time of year.

Indoors for quick plants: Scatter the seed on the surface of good quality potting mix.

Lightly cover with mix to approx. 2mm.

Keep moist. A temperature of around 15-20°C is best for rapid germination.

Seedlings emerge in approx. 7-14 days.
