Geranium phaeum
MOURNING WIDOW CRANESBILL

Tall stems hold pretty round discs of dark burgundy flowers. These are held above a dense mound of evergreen rounded foliage. The petals sweep back from the stamen in classic cranesbill fashion exposing the prominent lavender beak.  Blooms all through summer and autumn. A hardy perennial. Excellent for planting in dry shade areas such as under large deciduous trees. Dry & frost hardy.

SEED SOWING ADVICE:

Sow seeds in good quality compost or seed raising mix at anytime. Lightly cover with fine river sand or compost to their own depth. Place in a propagator or cover with a plastic lid in a warm place. We recommend germinating at 15-20 degrees C keep moist at all times, but do not saturate. This is one of the slow germinating geraniums , so please be patient. Pot on seedlings to harden off and mature before finally planting out in the garden.

SEED COUNT:
(We always aim to exceed the stated seed count, and give a generous serve).
