Few of us could ever be without the perfume pleasure of sniffing English Lavender.
You just can’t resist the temptation to pick some flowers or foliage every time you pass, rub it in your hands, and drink in the scent. (The plant won’t mind – they love being trimmed).

Perfect for low hedges – clipped or unclipped

Lavandula angustifolia ‘Rosea’ grows to approx. 45 to 60cm tall/
Making it perfect for low garden hedges (unclipped or formally clipped), trimming into decorative balls, featuring in a pot, or as a fragrant garden highlight.

Basks in Full Sun

It will tolerate acid soil, but really thrives in alkaline soils.
So make sure you treat it with a handful of lime twice a year.
And it will hate you if you plant it in a heavy or waterlogged spot.

Very water-wise

Lavandula angustifolia ‘Rosea’ is a very water-wise choice for gardeners with limited water.

Tough in heat, dry & frost

It is drought resistant, and toughly heat and frost hardy.

SEED SOWING ADVICE:

Sow winter to late spring or sow in late summer to autumn.

Indoors for early & quick plants: Sow in punnets on the surface of a well-drained, seed raising mix.

First – gently rub seeds briefly between sheets of fine sandpaper to allow moisture to more easily penetrate the hard seed surface.

Then sow seed on the surface of good quality seed raising mix. Press gently. Barely cover with mix as the seeds need light to germinate.

Keep punnet moist in warm, well-lit place.
Temperatures of 18- 20°C approx. are optimum for fast germination.

Seedlings emerge in 21-30 days.

If the seeds are shy to break their natural dormancy  – then cling-wrap punnet and place in the fridge (not freezer) for 3 weeks.
Then remove from fridge, unwrap punnet & return to warm, well-lit place. Keep moist.

Seed Count: 50 seeds per pack approx.
(We always aim to exceed the stated seed count, and give a generous serve).
